Fourteen people were killed Monday, January 24 by suspected Ugandan rebels of the ADF in Luna Samboko, in the territory of Irumu (Ituri). According to local sources, these militias also burned down houses and looted property from the population.
Faced with this umpteenth armed attack against civilians on the Komanda-Luna axis, civil society organizations and local notables are calling on the authorities to finally launch joint military operations FARDC and the Ugandan army UDPS, in this region, to put an end to the abuses of the assailants against civilians.
According to security sources, these alleged ADF rebels from North Kivu crossed the Samboko River in Ituri two weeks ago to head towards the localities of Masesele, Mongali and Point TU in Walese Vonkutu.
About twenty of them, they indicate, invested this entity for several hours by firing shots.
In this confusion, 14 people were shot, say several credible sources.
The coordinator of the NGO CRDH, an organization that monitors security in the area, Christophe Munyanderu indicates that the victims were taken to the mortuary of the general hospital of OICHA in the territory of Beni.

The coordinator of joint FARDC-UPDF operations currently on mission in Uganda remained unreachable for this purpose.
